HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A person was detained following a chase north of Houston late Thursday.
The chase happened along the Eastex Freeway around 10 p.m.
Harris County Pct. 4 Deputy Constables said they were pursuing a Toyota Prius that would not stop. It’s believed a man was driving the car with a woman in the passenger seat and at least one child in the back.
Deputies deployed spike strips, which took out the left side tires.
Eventually the driver, who called dispatchers at one point during the pursuit, was forced to stop not far from Beltway 8. He was detained without further incident, and no injuries were reported.
It’s unknown why deputies first tried to stop the Prius.
