Pearland police are questioning a juvenile who allegedly threatened to “shoot up” Pearland High School.
Police say the suspect posted on YouTube that unless his comment was “liked,” he would make good on his threat.
Detectives identified the juvenile and he was charged with making a terroristic threat. He remains in custody at the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
“All should be reminded that the internet is not a place where comments or threats can be idly made,” Pearland police posted on their Facebook page. “There can be very adult consequences for making blind threats regardless of the forum.”
Police are stepping up patrols at area schools as a precaution.
