Chase with deputies, DPS ends in Houston area after starting in Beaumont area

The Vidor Police Department reported that the suspect was armed and dangerous.

HOUSTON — Authorities are searching for a suspect driver after they bailed out during a chase along the East Freeway in the Houston area that started in the Beaumont area Thursday morning.

The suspect bailed out in the Channelview area.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, deputies were chasing a 2022 Dodge 3500 gray pickup with Mississippi tags stolen from Orange County.

The Vidor Police Department reported that the suspect was armed and dangerous.

The chase continued west through Chambers County before heading into the Houston area, DPS said.

Chambers County deputies were assisting in the chase but have backed off.
