SUGAR LAND, Texas — A search is underway for two suspects in Sugar Land after money was stolen from an armored truck, according to police.
The scene unfolded just after noon Tuesday at the H-E-B at the intersection of University Boulevard and Highway 6. According to police, the store remained open after the incident.
Investigators said someone stole money from the truck and left the scene. An armored truck guard fired at least two shots at the suspect's vehicle, hitting it. No injuries were reported in the shooting and it's unclear how much money was stolen.
Police said they found the suspect's vehicle but were still searching for whoever was responsible. Police said used K-9s, drones and a helicopter to search for the two suspects.
On Wednesday, Sugar Land PD released surveillance video showing one of the suspects in the case. In the video, what appears to be an armored truck employee is seen walking out of the grocery store with a bag in his hand. Right behind him is a person walking briskly who appears to be watching the man with the bag. That's one of the suspects, according to police, and he was wearing a black jacket with a hood over his head, black pants, black socks and sandals.
