PASADENA, Texas — Pasadena police are seeking a person of interest after a 19-year-old man was found shot to death in a park early Thursday morning.
The person of interest has not been identified but police released surveillance video showing the individual to be a woman who got into a black SUV at a convenience store.
The man's body was discovered around 2:30 a.m. at Satsuma Park on Satsuma Street near Red Bluff Boulevard, about a mile and a half from Sparks Elementary School.
Pasadena police said they got a call about a meeting at the park between the victim and three to four other people. It is not clear what happened next but authorities said the group ended up shooting the victim multiple times.
"We don't know what the purpose of the meeting was or what transpired that led to the shooting," said Sgt. Raul Granados with the Pasadena Police Department.
The victim then got into his car but ended up crashing at the park, police said. That's when people who were with the victim dragged his body out of the vehicle about 100 yards away on the other side of the park.
Sadly, the victim's mother learned about his death after tracking his location on her phone. She said a GPS monitoring system led her to the park.
"We do know that his mom was tracking him. And that she came out here and that’s when she found the tape," said Sgt. Raul with the Pasadena Police Department.
People who live in the area are asked to review their own cameras and call Detective M. Cooper at 281-752-1950 with any leads.
