SPRING, Texas — A man was arrested at a Lowe's in Spring Wednesday after stealing a shopping cart full of paint brushes, according to Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman's Office.
They said the guy tried to leave the North Freeway store without paying for the merchandise. He ran off on foot when he was confronted, according to Precinct 4, but deputies caught him.
They said the suspect also had promethazine hydrochloride without a prescription.
He's charged with felony theft and possession of a controlled substance.
According to the National Institutes of Health, the prescription cough syrup promethazine hydrochloride is often combined with codeine and used by opioid addicts to get high. The purple mixture is known by the street names "drank," "syrup" or "lean."
