This happened on Dec. 14, 2023, on the southbound main lanes of I-45 near the Rankin Road exit in north Harris County.

Around 5 a.m., deputies were sent to 191 West Road where they found the 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head.

The victim was sent to the hospital in said to be stable.

The victim later told deputies the suspect was driving a white 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado four-door pickup truck when they pulled up alongside him and shot at him.

A little over a month after the shooting, investigators released a composite sketch of the suspect described as a white man, about 40 to 50 years old, with a full beard and a mustache.

Investigators said when the incident took place, the suspect was wearing a hat that said "veterans" and had small badges on it.
