DOBBIN, Texas — A man and woman were found dead with gunshot wounds at a home near Dobbin, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
This happened at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Avenue C near FM 1486 between Montgomery and Plantersville.
MCSO said deputies responded to a welfare check and found the two people with gunshot wounds.
The two people found dead were identified as 62-year-old Stacy Wright and 61-year-old Cathryn Wright, deputies said.
Homicide detectives said that preliminary information is that the family members tried to contact the residents at the home but received no response, which led to a welfare check.
The circumstances and motive around this shooting are still under investigation.
Detectives said this appeared to be an isolated incident and only involved the two people found dead.
“This is a heartbreaking event, and our sincerest condolences go out to the families involved,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.
The investigation is still ongoing.
