HOUSTON — It may be a small trailer, but it’s built on hair stylist Dee Foster’s big dreams.
"That’s my baby, and I don’t have it anymore,” Foster said on Monday morning.
Foster, whose business is “Miss Dee and Friends," said her trailer was stolen from the Extra Space Storage off the Katy Freeway near Studemont sometime over the weekend.
Part of a fender was left behind as well as a damaged gate.
"And I just, I can’t imagine someone taking that from me, a single mother just trying to do good in the community,” Foster said.
Miss Dee started her mobile salon during the pandemic and caters to kids, especially those who may not feel comfortable in a normal salon setting.
"My specialty is children that have special needs," Foster said. "From autistic to Down Syndrome to mobile impairment.”
Foster usually checks to make sure her so-called “hair taxi” is safely parked as she drives her own daughter to school every morning.
"And today, I saw that it wasn’t there,” Foster said in an emotional social media post.
She quickly took to social media in hopes of finding the trailer and, most importantly, its contents.
"There’s special pictures, the kids draw me pictures," Foster said. "Special pictures of me with my kids.”
Foster met with KHOU 11 News before filing a report with the Houston Police Department and said she's trying to be optimistic that the trailer that means so much to her will turn up.
“I have no words, I have no words,” Foster said.
The trailer is primarily yellow and black and has the "Miss Dee and Friends" logo all over it.
Call Houston police at (713) 884-3131 if you see it.
