MCSO: Standoff ends with suspect who shot at officers during chase

Goodman was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt and he has a shaved head, said deputies. He is considered armed and dangerous.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A SWAT standoff with an armed and dangerous suspect came to an end early Monday after several hours.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office say the suspect identified as 34-year-old Nolen Goodman was being held up inside a house and refusing to come out. He ws taken into custody shortly before 4:30 a.m. Monday.

The standoff lasted several hours after deputies say he led officers on a chase Saturday night and shot at them before crashing his car and fleeing.

Thankfully, no one was hit.

They eventually tracked him back to a house located on FM 149.

Rosemary Paez, who was identified as Goodman’s girlfriend, was in the car during the pursuit. She was detained on scene, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Because of this situation, FM 149 from Keenan Cut Off Road all the way to Montgomery Elementary School is closed.

The sheriff’s office says it will remain closed until this scene is clear. KHOU 11 News is working to get more details on what it means for student arriving at school Monday morning.
