Police say Dnarion Henderson, 23, and Kenya Bell, 19, shot and killed the 29-year-old during a robbery on Mykawa Road on July 17.

HOUSTON — Two people have been arrested and charged with capital murder in the recent shooting death of a store clerk on Houston's South Side.

Francis Merino, 29, was working inside the store on Mykawa Road near Southridge Street when he was shot and killed around 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17.

Houston police said the robbers wore hoods and masks when they held up the store and then shot the victim before running away on foot.

Witnesses found Merino and called 911 but he died at the scene.

It's not clear what led homicide detectives to Henderson and Bell.
