HOUSTON — A man was arrested after he allegedly made threats to a woman and had a confrontation with a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy Tuesday evening. The deputy fired his weapon toward the man, but he was not struck.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the Creekwood Grill on Telge Road, south of Jarvis Road at about 5:25 p.m. A man told deputies that another man had made "terroristic threats" toward his daughter, who was at the restaurant, according to Major Earl Dean with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Dean spoke to the media at the scene Tuesday night.

The threats related to photos of firearms on a phone, Dean said.

While deputies spoke with the father, the man who allegedly made the threats drove up to the restaurant.

Deputies directed the man to exit the vehicle. The man attempted to flee the scene.

"Deputies perceived a threat," Dean said. One of the deputies fired his weapon at the vehicle several times, Dean said.

The man's vehicle crashed in a nearby parking lot and he attempted to run from the scene, Dean said. He was captured 100 feet away.

The man was facing charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer, evading arrest, and terroristic threats.

Major Earl Dean provided a media briefing regarding an officer-involved shooting in the 12700 block of Telge Road. Deputies responded to a call about a terroristic threat at the location and engaged with the suspect. During the encounter, an officer discharged their weapon. The suspect now faces pending charges, including aggravated assault on a peace officer, evading arrest, and terroristic threat.
