HOUSTON A man was shot several times inside a Mexicanrestaurant in southwest Houston Sunday afternoon.
Around 1 p.m., a man was shot inside the Taqueria Cancun on the 8100 block of S. Gessner. At least10 people were inside the restaurant during the shooting.
Police said the the victimwas in his 30s and inside the restaurant drinking beers with his friends at the time. He later died at the hospital.
Isabel Lara, a waitress across the street from the taqueria, said around 1:30 p.m., a group of men playing music for Mother s Day ran out of the restaurant ducking for cover.
They just came in and said they were playing for the guys, it started an argument. Some guy got up, shot him in the chest and in the head and they left, said Lara.
Investigatorswere trying to determine whether it was a friend of the victim that fired the shots.
It could ve possibly been within the same group of people that he was with, but we don t know, said HPD Homicide Sergeant C.D. Howard.
Policewere still looking for a suspect Monday.
