HPD: Husband, wife shoot robbery suspect at north Houston gas station

The suspect was taken to a hospital where he is expected to survive, police said.

HOUSTON — A man was shot Tuesday after a woman said he was trying to rob her, according to Houston police.

This happened at about 6:30 p.m. at a gas station in the 8600 block of Fulton, which is near E Tidwell Road.

The woman told police she was sitting in her car at the gas station when she noticed two men with guns walking toward her.

The woman said she called her husband, who was inside the convenience store, to alert him to what was happening.

Police said the woman's husband rushed outside and both he and his wife started shooting at the alleged robbers.

One of them was shot several times, police said. The other one got away.

The man who was shot had to undergo surgery but is expected to survive, police said.

The couple was questioned by investigators. Police are hoping to get their hands on surveillance video to see how this all unfolded.
