HOUSTON – A Houston man has confessed to the 2014 murder of a 2-year-old girl.
Navaeh Cornwall died last July after she was scalded in a bathtub.
Charles Gipson confessed to killing her Wednesday and was charged with murder.
Gipson told investigators his girlfriend was babysitting the little girl the day she died. When the 2-year-old urinated on the floor, Gipson dunked her in scalding hot water twice to punish her.
The child died so Gipson and his girlfriend decided to make up a story because they were afraid CPS would take their own child away. They told investigators that Navaeh had crawled into the tub on her own.
Gipson is being held on a $50,000 bond.
