HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a man at a northeast Harris County apartment complex, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
It happened Saturday, July 20 in the parking lot of an apartment complex on North Thorntree Drive near Uvalde Road.
Gonzalez said Cesar Peralta, 20, was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said Peralta wasn't armed.
Just over two weeks later, Gonzalez said Akili McDowell, 21, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Peralta's death.
McDowell is in the Harris County Jail on a $400,000 bond. He's set to make his first court appearance Monday.
