HOUSTON – Police took a young man into custody after a motorcycle chase and crash on Houston's southside early Wednesday.
Houston police said an officer tried to stop the motorcycle rider on 288 near S. MacGregor for speeding and weaving in and out of traffic, but the suspect took the exit ramp and turned onto S. MacGregor.
The rider eventually hit a muddy spot at a curve in the road and crashed. His helmet and leather gear protected him from injury, and he was taken into custody at the scene.
Police said the man will face evading charges.
