HOUSTON — We're learning more about the background of the woman who opened fire inside Lakewood Church last weekend.
On Monday, authorities said they found antisemitic writings during their investigation into Genesse Ivonne Moreno.
On Wednesday, KHOU 11 found writings connected to Moreno that featured hate speech and threats.

They were found on a profile on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The account was only active for five days in 2022 -- between Nov. 28 to Dec. 2.
During that time, more than 50 posts appeared to be written by Moreno. About half of them featured writing that was blatantly hostile toward Jewish people. A few posts included images of what appeared to be Moreno holding a gun. At least three posts mentioned Moreno's ex-mother-in-law by name. The posts referenced the fact that she's Jewish.
In 2022, Moreno was in a legal battle with her former mother-in-law to decide who would get custody of her son.
The X account had no followers and only followed 14 other users, including accounts for CNN, Fox News, an account for a Jewish museum and a couple of accounts that supported Kanye West for president.
Houston police wouldn't confirm that the account belonged to Moreno due to the pending investigation. However, other sources have confirmed to KHOU 11 the X account is connected to Moreno.
Shooting details
Shots rang out Sunday at Lakewood Church, sending parishioners scrambling to safety.
A day later, Houston police confirmed the shooter was Moreno, 36. She was shot and killed and her 7-year-old son was shot in the head. At last check, he was in critical condition.
Moreno was wearing a trench coat and a backpack when she threatened an unarmed security guard with an AR-15 before entering Lakewood with the child on Sunday afternoon, according to police. She immediately opened fire in the westside hallway and got into a shootout with two law enforcement officers who were working security, investigators said.
Moreno was shot and killed in a shootout with the off-duty officers.
During the gun battle, her son was shot in the head. A 57-year-old man, an innocent bystander, was also shot in the leg. He was released from the hospital on Monday.
