A lockdown has been lifted for an elementary school in the Manvel area after a shooting down the road, according to the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office.
BCSO said one person was injured in the shooting on Ellis Drive, about half a mile from Don Jeter Elementary in Alvin ISD.
The school on County Road 58 was placed on lockdown "out of an abundance of caution" as the investigation continued.
Parents were asked to hold off on picking up their children while the investigation continued.
Just after 5 p.m., BCSO said two people were in custody and the lockdown was lifted.
