'I'm sorry I have to do this' | Crook targeting Cypress dessert shops

The white car he was seen driving came back stolen.

CYPRESS, Texas — Precinct 4 Constable's Office investigators are trying to track down a crook targeting dessert shops across Cypress.

It happened first on Jan. 15 during down time at the Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt shop off Grant Road.

A man with a goatee is caught on surveillance cameras. He walks right in, grabs the register and yanks.

Manager Debra Santos hid in the back.

"I saw him and I saw what I was doing," Santos said. "You just don't know people now a days. I didn't know if he had a gun or a weapon."

A month later on Valentine's Day, the bald bandit casually strolls into another Orange Leaf, this time off Highway 290 at Cypress-Rosehill. It was just before close. He grabbed the register and pulled, his face again fully exposed and caught on camera.

"It's very frustrating all around for all of us," Santos said.

That same day he hit a Shipley's Donuts off Highway 249. Same target, same result. The manager tried chasing him before he sped away.

"As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the same guy," said Santos.

And then last Saturday, the brazen criminal struck Orange Leaf on Grant again and swiped their second cash register.

"He said I'm sorry I have to do this, and he ripped the cables and took off again," Santos said.

Together these businesses have lost several hundred dollars. Now folks at these family friendly frozen yogurt shops worry he'll keep coming back.

"I hope they catch him soon," Santos said. "He seems to be repetitive so hopefully he'll have a break in his pattern and they'll catch him."

The Pct. 4 Constable's Office is working to find this guy. The white car he was seen driving did come back stolen.

If you have any information about who may be behind this, call the Pct. 4 Constable's Office right away.
