HOUSTON — A man who police believe killed his wife was arrested about six months after her disappearance.
Police said Crystal Lynch, 35, was reported missing on May 7 and the last person she was known to be with was her husband, Marquise Roshard Glasper, 37, at their apartment on West Gulf Bank Road in northwest Houston.
Glasper was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and tampering with evidence - human corpse in the case, according to the Houston Police Department. He's due in court on Monday.
Lynch's body hasn't been found.
A witness told police that Glasper believed Lynch was having an affair before she disappeared. Glasper had previously said he would hurt Lynch if he ever found out she cheated on him, according to police.
HPD said investigators found blood in multiple areas of Lynch's car. They also searched the apartment the two shared and said it looked as though someone had tried to clean up a crime scene.
Glasper appeared in probable cause court early Sunday morning, where the state said detectives found evidence, including bullet fragments and blood, that he had shot Lynch to death in the apartment.
Lynch's daughters have been staying with her sister, Jennifer Mumphrey, in Dallas since her disappearance more than six months ago.
"They are really missing their mother," Mumphrey said. "A very strong, strong woman. A very good mother."
Lynch has two children who will be going through the holidays without their mom. She's also the youngest of her three siblings.
Mumphrey said she spoke to her sister on the day she went missing. She said the couple had only been married about a year.
"We want closure. One way or the other, we want closure, but I always hope and pray for the best," Mumphrey said.
Mumphrey said she never had a good feeling about her brother-in-law. She said justice won't be possible until Glasper is arrested and Lynch's body is found.
At probable cause court, a judge did not set bond on the Glasper's murder charge, deferring to the trial court. His bond was set at $50,000 for the tampering with evidence charge and $25,000 for the unlawful possession of a firearm charge. He was also ordered to 24-hour house arrest, should he make bond. Glasper was also forbidden to have any contact with Lynch's children.
