Humble police officer shoots two suspects in stolen car near Deerbrook Mall, officials say

Authorities said an Humble police officer shot two suspects who were in a stolen car.

HUMBLE, Texas — An Humble Police Department officer was involved in a shooting Tuesday night near Deerbrook Mall, according to authorities.

Officials said the shooting happened in the 9800 block of FM 1960 Bypass Road West, which appears to be in a shopping center near the mall.

Just after 6 p.m., police said the officer was in the parking lot of a department store when the officer confronted two suspects in a stolen vehicle.

Authorities said "a confrontation occurred" and shots were fired. The two suspects were struck, Humble police said. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment. It's unknown how badly they were injured.

The officer was not hurt and no further details have been made available.
