HOUSTON — A convenience store clerk was shot and killed Friday after he followed two men who stole a bag of chips, according to Humble police.
The shooting happened at about 11:30 a.m. just off the Will Clayton Parkway and Eastex Freeway intersection.
Police said after the alleged robbery, the clerk got into his vehicle and followed the men until they reached the Will Clayton Parkway and Eastex Freeway intersection. That's when the two men started shooting at the clerk from inside their car.
The clerk tried to back up but was shot. He died at the scene.
Law enforcement, including the Houston Police Department and Harris County Precinct 4 deputies, searched for the two men using drones and dogs.
They were unable to find them as of Friday night.
Police released a surveillance video Friday with hopes the public can help them identify the two men involved in the shooting.
Anyone with information that could help is urged to call the Humble Police Department.
