HPD: Woman wanted for deadly shooting outside Galleria-area gym

Police are looking for a woman seen running from a shooting scene Tuesday in the Galleria area.

Homicide detectives are looking for a tall, blonde woman seen running from a shooting scene Tuesday in the Galleria area.

Witnesses say she's the one who shot a man several times across from the One2One Training Center on Richmond near Briargrove. It happened around 12:45 p.m.

The victim died after surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Investigators say surveillance video shows the woman had been waiting in her car for about an hour before the shooting. She moved the car around to different parking spots.

As the victim approached her car, detectives say she got out and fired three shots at him.

"He gets over here where these trees are, collapses. She fires several more shots at him. When she's out of bullets, she begins to pistol-whip him," HPD homicide detective Matthew Brady said. "After pistol-whipping him for a couple seconds, she picks up her gun and runs back to her car."

Witnesses saw the woman in workout clothes running across the parking lot before driving away in a black Hyundai Genesis. She had blonde hair in a ponytail and was wearing a workout bra, pink pants and tennis shoes. Police estimate she's about 6 feet tall.

Jeb Hutton had just pulled into the parking lot and was headed to the gym when he heard the gunshots.

" I saw a man walking towards her car. Looked like he knew her and he was walking pretty abruptly," Hutton said. "I just kept coming in and about that time I heard three gunshots."

Hutton ducked behind his car when two more shots rang out. ,

“Stood up, saw the man down at the end of the parking lot and a lot of people had surrounded him and people were coming out of the gym and we called 911,” said Hutton.

The victim's name hasn't been released.

Detectives don't think this was a random shooting and they are trying to figure out the relationship between the suspect and victim.
