HOUSTON – Police are searching for a suspect who assaulted a employee during a robbery at a northwest Houston business overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a call of a shooting at about 11: 40 p.m. Tuesday at Crosstimbers and Cornell.

When police arrived at the scene, they found an employee at a truck repair shop had been hit over the head with a shotgun. He was transported to Northwest Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

According to investigators, a suspect was breaking into the business and the employee, who stays there overnight, heard the suspect, went over with a shotgun and confronted the suspect.

A struggle ensued, and they fought over the weapon. It went off shooting one time in the air.

The suspect managed to get it away from the employee, and then hit him in the head with the gun. The suspect then fled the scene and got away.
