HPD releases surveillance video in woman's murder

Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department released new surveillance video Wednesday in the investigation of a woman murdered at her apartment.

Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department released new surveillance video Wednesday in the investigation of a young woman murdered at her apartment.

HPD says on Nov. 4, 2015, Shelbey Thornburgh was killed inside her apartment in the 7500 block of Bellaire Boulevard. Thornburgh was pronounced dead from an injury caused by an unknown sharp object.

The victim is believed to have met with an unknown suspect prior to her death. Surveillance cameras captured images of this man leaving the victim’s building during the time she was killed.

Investigators believe this individual might be related to this incident.

The suspect was described as a white male, wearing a light colored long sleeve shirt, shorts, tennis shoes and sunglasses.

Thornburgh’s family is requesting the public's help in getting new leads in the case.
