HOUSTON — One person was killed and several others were hurt on Christmas Eve in a shootout at a nightclub in southeast Houston.
This happened at about 3 a.m. at Nawlins After Dark, which is just off the Gulf Freeway and Monroe.
Investigators with the Houston Police Department believe the shooting seemed from a fight, but it's unknown if the fight happened inside or outside the club.
When shots were fired, one person was hit. Witnesses told police the person managed to run a short distance before he collapsed and died.
Police believe the shooters got away in a 2015 blue Toyota Tundra with the license plate number: JLX0756.
"It's going to be multiple individuals armed with weapons," said HPD Assistant Chief Megan Howard. "Do not have specifics in terms of how many were armed with weapons but obviously it does appear that there were at least two with a back-and-forth. Some of the stray rounds did cross the street and hit area nearby businesses.
If you have any information about the shooting or the shooters, you're asked to contact HPD's homicide division at 713-308-3600.
