HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 35-year-old man was shot and killed when he tried to break into his ex-wife's home in north Harris County Thursday night, according to the sheriff’s office.
This happened around 10:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Blue Ash Drive. Investigators said deputies responded to a shooting at that time.
The man was visiting his ex-wife when they got into an argument, deputies said. He left and the woman called some friends to come over.
The man showed back up at the scene and was not let into the apartment, deputies said. At some point, he tried to force his way into the apartment and was shot by one of his ex-wife's friends.
The shooter left the scene and remains on the run. Deputies are still trying to talk to witnesses to get all of the information about what took place.
There were two children, ages 14 and 5, inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, deputies said. They were not injured.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.
