Multiple people injured in shootout outside convenience store in Greenspoint area, police say

Police said a total of three people were shot in this parking lot on Greens Parkway just north of Beltway 8.

HOUSTON — Multiple people were injured during a shootout outside of a convenience store in the Greenspoint area Monday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

This happened shortly after 10 p.m. on Greens Parkway just north of Beltway 8.

Houston police said a total of three people were shot in the parking lot. Right now, they are combing through surveillance video in the area that caught all of the gunfire on camera.

Police said about nine to 10 men, likely in their 20s, were hanging out when six to seven of them started fighting. Then one of the men got inside a maroon Nissan sedan, grabbed a gun, got back out of the car, and began to shoot at the crowd.

HPD said the group started shooting back and several shots were fired back and forth.

“One of the individuals that were with the larger group in the middle of the parking lot gets hit. You can see him get shot. Well, he runs holding a mini AR rifle and starts randomly shooting,” HPD Lt Willkens said.

Houston police said two more people were shot after that.

No arrests have been made.
