HOUSTON — Houston police are looking for a crew that's believed to be responsible for a string of armed robberies over the last month at different smoke shops around Houston.
One of those shops was hit twice and both times it was caught on camera.
Muhammad Mujahid, the owner of Cloud Chaserz Smoke Shop on West Alabama, said he believes the same people are responsible for both of the robberies.
"No one wants a gun to their head and it happened twice to one of my guys. He's literally tormented right now," he said.
Police said they think the crew is responsible for at least six armed robberies, most of them in the same area.
Mujahid said the first incident happened in July and his store was targeted yet again on Monday. In the most recent incident, they took all of the cash from the register and took as much merchandise as they could fit into bags. In less than three minutes, they were out of the door.
"First time, they came in, it was two of my employees ... told them to lay on the floor, pulled out guns and they were literally scared for their life," Mujahid said.
On Thursday, Houston police released video from the first incident. They also released still images of the suspects.
Mujahid said they looked young and didn't get away with much money.
"They just want to get vapes and some merchandise," he said.
He said he's been in the business for 20 years and knows some of the other shop owners who were hit.
"It's really a tight-knit community and we are really worried about our safety," he said. "We don't even make enough to afford all these things -- security guards, extra alarms and this and that. But we have no choice."
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers or the Houston Police Department.
