HOUSTON — A man was shot and killed after he got into a fight with two officers Wednesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.
This happened just before 10 p.m. on Werner Street near the North Freeway on the north side.
The officers questioned the two men for standing in an area that had a “no trespassing” sign. Police said the officers asked them for their IDs.
That is when they found one of the men had warrants out for his arrest. While they searched him, officers found a gun and that’s when the struggle broke out.
One of the officers fired her weapon and the man was hit, police said. He later was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Both officers suffered minor injuries from the fight but are expected to be OK.
HPD is still investigating the incident.
