HOUSTON — The search is on for a suspect police believe is involved with a chase that lasted over an hour long on Houston freeways early Thursday morning.
This started as a call about a stolen truck in the Sugar Land area around 3 a.m. and ended up with police chasing the truck and a boat it was towing for over an hour. Police said the chase reached speeds of up to 120 mph.
The driver led police onto Highway 290 headed east near Barker Cypress initially, continuing onto I-10 east and moving to I-45, I-610 and eventually the Eastex Freeway headed north. Police said the driver was driving the wrong way on the Eastex Freeway when they deployed spike strips, ending the chase.
One person was taken into custody but police were still searching for another suspect.
