Man charged with murder 2 weeks after body found near retention pond in NW Houston

Court documents say a 19-year-old man shot and stabbed the victim to death.

HOUSTON — A man was arrested and charged with murder two weeks after a body found with stab and gunshot wounds near a retention pond in northwest Houston, according to court documents.

The charging document accuses Angel Daniel Saldivar, 19, of killing Oscar Alexis Archila-Estrade.

Archila-Estrade's body was found on July 28. He had been stabbed and shot, investigators said.

Sgt. Sidney Miller with HCSO on the day the body was found said deputies were called out to the scene after receiving a call from Cy-Fair EMS around 6 a.m. reporting a man had been found dead. The body was found in a parking lot across from an apartment complex on Hollister Street near Little York Road.

At the time, Miller said that based on the man's clothing, there may have been a struggle before he was killed. Bullet casings were found at the scene.

Saldivar is due in court on Thursday.
