HOUSTON A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting death of an aspiring rapper Sunday morning in north Harris County, deputies said.
Shaddai McLemore, of Houston, is charged with murder in the death of 22-year-old Tyrell Young, court documents state.
The Harris County Sheriff s Office said around 1:20 a.m. on July 21 deputies were dispatched to the 11300 block of Grayling Lane. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered that the shooting occurred as several people were making a rap music video at a home.
According to an affidavit by the Harris County Sheriff s Office, Witnesses said that a fight broke out inside the home when McLemore, who also goes by the nickname 44, hit another man with a pistol.
The fight spilled outside onto the front lawn, where witnesses said McLemore pulled out his gun a shot Young in the abdomen.
Bystanders put Young in a car and took him to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
On Sunday night, friends and family members held a candlelight vigil for the aspiring rapper.
