HPD: Man shot to death after pointing gun at 3 men who were asking for money at food truck

Police said the man said he was going to get them money, but instead returned with a pistol.

HOUSTON — A man was shot to death Saturday night after an incident at a food truck in southwest Houston, police say.

This happened around 9:30 p.m. on Chimney Rock Road near Gulfton Street.

Commander James Dale with the Houston Police Department said the incident started when three men were asking for $20 at a food truck. A man at the scene said he would go get them some money. He left and came back with a pistol. Police said the man pointed the gun at the three men, who in turn opened fire on the man, killing him.

The three men ran off and got into a car. Police said officers have identified one of the three men and have good surveillance video of the incident.
