HOUSTON — Houston police are looking for a man and a woman who robbed a southwest Houston fast food restaurant last month.
Investigators said the man was driving and the woman was in the passenger seat when they pulled up to a Jack in the Box drive-thru window along Bellaire Boulevard near Renwick Drive on Oct. 24 around midnight.
A restaurant employee who was working at the window said the man got out of the car, which police said was a silver Dodge Challenger, and pointed a gun at them while demanding money from the register. When the suspect got the money, he got back in the car and drove away, police said.
The incident was caught on surveillance video and the employee said it's not the first time he's had a gun pointed at him while he was working. He had a message for the criminals.
"I believe it's really unnecessary. They could just get a regular job like the rest of us. There's no need to do that," Luis Villanueva said.
He said that since he'd been through it more than once, he knew how to handle the situation.
"You stay safe ... like, don't try to fight it. Nothing's worth risking your life over, especially that amount of cash," he said.
He said it's the first time he's had a gun pulled on him at his current job, but he's had similar experiences a few other times at other fast food restaurants. He said it's sad the criminals put lives at risk for less than $100 he said was in the drawer at the time of the robbery.
Suspect descriptions
The man was described by police as being between 20 and 30 years old, about 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall with black hair, a gray hoodie and gray pants. The woman's description was vague.
