HPD: Man hurt in drive-by shooting in north Houston | Around 30 shots fired

According to the Houston Police Department, the victim was eating pizza in a parking lot when the shooting happened.

HOUSTON — Police are investigating after a man was hurt in a drive-by shooting in north Houston early Sunday morning.

This happened on Vickery Drive just south of the Sam Houston Tollway around 1:30 a.m.

According to the Houston Police Department, the victim was eating pizza in a parking lot when a white sedan slowly drove by. People in the sedan opened fire, hitting the man in the torso at least once. Police said around 30 shots were fired.

The victim ran to his apartment nearby where he called for help. HPD said he was taken to an area hospital where he is expected to be OK.

There's no word on the suspects or what caused the shooting.
