HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was taken into custody Monday morning after investigators said he shot his grandmother at a home in the Hockley area.
It happened at a home on Yellow Dawn Lane, which is in a community just outside the Grand Parkway and north of US 290.
Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said the 73-year-old woman's 20-year-old grandson is the one who pulled the trigger.
Details surrounding the incident are limited, but HCSO investigators said the woman was shot several times. She was taken to a hospital and at last check, she was in serious condition but is expected to be OK.
Authorities said they're working to find out what led up to the shooting as well as a motive.
Authorities said charges against the grandson are pending, but it's unclear what the charges will be.
