An off-duty officer with the Harris County Sheriff's Office was arrested on Sunday night for an alleged assault.
According to HCSO, the Houston Police Department arrested 29-year-old Brian Robert Jones with a charge for misdemeanor assault.
HCSO said the deputy was placed on non-law enforcement duty pending the outcome of the criminal case and the outcome of a separate internal HCSO investigation.
