HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was found dead with gunshot wounds after he crashed into a parked car in north Harris County, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
This happened shortly before 4 a.m. on Golden Eagle Drive, which is near Beltway 8 and Mesa Drive.
Gonzalez said the man, who was in his late teens or early 20s, had been shot in an incident involving a gray SUV before the crash. The vehicle he had been driving, a black sedan, was reported stolen from a nearby apartment complex.
The owner of the black sedan admitted to deputies that he drove his wife's SUV and chased the vehicle being driven by the young man along with an unknown male passenger, according to Gonzalez.
Gonzalez said when the alleged car theft suspect refused to stop driving, Caples fired shots into the car, causing him to crash.
He was later found dead by deputies. His identity has not been released.
Gonzalez said the man was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with murder.
