HOUSTON — A man was killed Monday in a crash at the end of a chase in northeast Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. along Hardy Street at the North Loop.
Investigators said deputies tried to pull over a Chevrolet truck for a traffic violation, but the driver refused to stop and led them on a chase for several miles before it crashed into pillars underneath the North Loop.
The driver of the truck was killed, authorities said. No one else was in the truck.
All southbound traffic on Hardy was blocked off while traffic on the Hardy Toll Road and North Loop was not affected.
