MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A former Montgomery County detention officer has been arrested and charged with sexual assault according to the sheriff's office.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said Eliazar Vasquez was off-duty when the incident happened. The sheriff's office did not release details surrounding the case, but said Vasquez was being held at the county jail on a $50,000 bond. He has since been fired.
"The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, compassion and trust," MCSO said in a news release. "We take all allegations of misconduct seriously and will ensure this incident is thoroughly investigated in accordance with the law and department protocols."
The sheriff's office is asking anyone who's had any "adverse contact" or "dealings" with Vasquez to contact them at 936-760-5800 option 3 and refer to case #24A263755.
