Several shots fired inside Family Dollar store in southwest Houston, no one hurt

Houston police said a man who appeared to be under the influence of drugs went into the store on Fondren and opened fire.

HOUSTON — A man is in custody after police say he walked into a Family Dollar store in southwest Houston Friday night and started shooting. 

Thankfully, no one was hit.

It happened around 6:40 p.m. at a store on Fondren near South Braeswood.

The suspect appeared to be under the influence of drugs when he opened fire, according to HPD Lt. Larry Crowson. He said the guy may have been shooting at people who weren't actually there.

He was arrested at the scene.
