MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A man was arrested in Montgomery County this week after authorities said he stole equipment from Entergy electrical trucks in the middle of power restoration efforts due to Beryl.

Roger Dale Parker Jr., 48, was arrested when deputies responded to reports of a suspicious person at an abandoned home off FM 1485 near New Caney on Thursday morning.

Authorities said they found large spools of wire and other electrical equipment belonging to Entergy inside the home.

Entergy told investigators that the items had been stolen from their trucks overnight.

Parker was arrested and faces several charges, including burglary of a habitation, theft of metal and possession of a controlled substance, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office officials said.
