HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A sheriff's deputy shot a man in north Harris County on Sunday.
Deputies were responding to a burglary call when they spotted a suspect vehicle in the 100 block of Hollow Tree Lane around 6:45 p.m.
They stopped the vehicle and as deputies approached, one of the three suspects showed a handgun, according to sheriff’s office Capt. Chris Sandoval.
That’s when one of the deputies fired a shot, hitting that suspect in the leg, Sandoval said.
The suspect was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. The other two suspects ran away but were quickly arrested, Sandoval said.
There had been earlier reports of a robbery and burglary in the same area. Investigators did not say if the suspects are still believed to be involved in those reported crime.
Harris County prosecutors also responded to the scene.
