Lt. Riley with HPD said the victims are believed to be between 18 and 22 years old.

SPRING BRANCH, Texas — Houston police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured in the Spring Branch area Saturday night.

It happened around 8 p.m. at an apartment complex on Johanna Drive near Janak Drive.

Lt. Riley with HPD said they received calls about two groups of males shooting guns in the parking lot of the complex. When police got there, they found several shell casings and a blood trail, but no victims at the scene.

Riley said police were called to a local clinic where a man was dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Police were later notified about another man with gunshot wounds at a local hospital who claimed to have come from the same location.

One suspect was arrested at the hospital. The events leading up to the shooting are still unknown.

Riley said investigators are still working to determine if a rifle was used in the shooting as several calibers were recovered from the scene.

Both victims are believed to be between 18 and 22 years old, according to Riley.
