Danbury police officer shot after responding to family disturbance call, Brazoria County Sheriff's Office says

The officer was flown to the Texas Medical Center for treatment. Officials said he was in critical condition and will require more surgeries.

DANBURY, Texas — The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a Danbury police officer was shot when he responded to a family disturbance call Wednesday night.

The sheriff's office has identified the officer who was shot as Officer Brandon Turner, 35. They said he remains in critical condition and will require further surgeries.

The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. at a home on Avenue C in Danbury, northeast of Angleton.

The sheriff’s office said Turner responded to a family disturbance call and was shot shortly after arriving at the scene.

He was flown to the Texas Medical Center to be treated. 

Three hours later, law enforcement was able to track down the suspected shooter a mile away from the original scene, the sheriff’s office said.

“Officer Turner remains in critical but stable condition and will require further surgeries. He has been a dedicated member of law enforcement since 2018, serving the Brazoria County community with professionalism and a deep commitment to its safety.”
