HOUSTON The family of a woman who was raped and murdered at a check-cashing business two years ago is asking the public for help finding her killer.
Francelia Palomares body was found at the check-cashing store where she worked in the 6400 block of Fulton on November 6, 2009.
Police believe she may have known her attacker and may have even opened the door to her work area to let that person in.
Investigators said an undisclosed number of items were stolen from the scene of the crime.
Palomares family members said she was a nurse in Mexico, and was working to become an RN here in the States when she was killed.
She d taken the job at the check-cashing store to support herself in the meantime.
She was someone who never deserved this. She had a dream, and someone took it away from her, her brother, Adrian Palomares, said. I want to ask the people who know something, who saw something, who heard something, to come out.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 for information leading to Francelia Palomares killer. Unfortunately, investigators said there were no security cameras at the scene of the crime, so they have not identified a suspect.
