MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A man was arrested Wednesday in a small town southeast of Dallas and charged with the promotion and distribution of child pornography into The Woodlands, according to the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office.
Christopher Hart Mason was charged with five counts of promotion/distribution of child porn in Montgomery County, authorities said.
Constable Ryan Gable said his department worked alongside the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce to take Mason into custody in Mabank, Texas, a town of about 4,000 residents about 50 miles southeast of Dallas.
During their investigation, authorities said they found that Mason had thousands of images of infants and toddlers being sexually assaulted. They also said they found out Mason was a registered child sex offender out of Henderson County.
Mason was brought back to Montgomery County to face the charges. He was being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $500,000 bond, officials said.
