HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was arrested and charged with capital murder this week in connection with a deadly shooting that happened during a robbery about two months ago.

The shooting happened in late September, but the victim died last weekend.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Andre D. Jackson, 31, shot Anwar Jackson, 23, on Sept. 27.

Gonzalez said Anwar Jackson got a ride to his home on Jasper Ridge Drive in far northwest Harris County -- just outside the Grand Parkway and north of the Northwest Freeway.

When Anwar Jackson got home, several people robbed him at gunpoint, according to Gonzalez. He was shot in the abdomen during the robbery and was taken to an area hospital. On Saturday, he died from complications, Gonzalez said.

Andre Jackson was identified as a suspect in the shooting. On Tuesday, he was arrested on an aggravated robbery warrant, according to Gonzalez. That charge was upgraded to capital murder and Andre Jackson was booked into the Harris County Jail.
